Foot Wide Moths

This is the worlds largest Moth known as Attacus or Atlas they have a one foot wingspan and even if their size seems intimidating are completely harmless.

They are named after the beautiful pattern in their wings that apparently resemble a map to whomever named them.

These guys are found in the tropical and subtropical forests of South East Asia and have a life span of only two weeks.

Attacus are quite lovely to look at don’t you think?
